Travel, accommodation, and subsistence costs are covered by the World Bank for participants from ODA-eligible countries.

Programme Duration and Location

The immersive in-person track of the fellowship lasts for six months. Participants in this track will travel to Washington, D.C., for an intensive two-week period in March 2027. Exact dates will be communicated once confirmed. The online-only track offers flexibility in terms of location and schedule. Regional hub fellowships will be based in designated locations.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Government Analytics Fellowship, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Be nominated by their current organization. A maximum of two fellows can be nominated per organization.
  • Work in a central government organization or government agency.
  • Hold a mid-level management or senior analyst position, or an equivalent role.
  • Possess the authority and institutional backing to develop a Government Analytics project.
  • Have completed tertiary-level coursework in statistics or related quantitative methods.
  • Be proficient in English.
  • Present a Government Analytics project with clear relevance to their institution and potential for successful implementation.

For the in-person fellowship specifically, candidates must be available to travel to Washington, D.C., for approximately two weeks in March 2027. They must also commit to completing the virtual Government Analytics Fellowship course and submitting their project proposal before attending the in-person training.
