The NNF-IAS Fellowship program has a duration of 23 months, commencing on September 1, 2027, and concluding in July 2029. The fellowship is hosted by one of the eight Nordic Institutes for Advanced Studies. Applicants will need to prioritize their desired hosting institute during the application process.

The specific location will depend on the chosen institute, which is situated within a Nordic country. Fellows are expected to reside in the country of their hosting institute for the entire duration of the fellowship.

Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the NNF-IAS Fellowship, applicants must meet several criteria. They must have completed their PhD and possess between 2 and 10 years of career experience after obtaining their doctorate. The PhD training period itself is not counted towards this experience.

Applicants must be of any nationality and come from any academic discipline, provided their research aligns with the thematic scope of the call. A key requirement is compliance with mobility rules: applicants should not have resided or carried out their main work activity in the country of their priority hosting institute for more than 12 months in the two years immediately preceding the application deadline.
