Imagine gaining hands-on skills in firefighting or traffic control while serving your community. The NARYSEC Firefighter & Traffic Officer Trainee Programme 2026 offers South African youth in rural areas a real chance to build a better future. This program from the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development targets unemployed young people ready for training and action.

About the NARYSEC Programme

The National Rural Youth Service Corps (NARYSEC) Programme helps young people in rural spots grow skills and take part in community work. It lines up with South Africa’s National Development Plan for 2030. The goal is to train rural youth, boost their role in the economy, and spark youth-led projects.

Trainees start with a 9-week induction and Youth Leadership Development Programme. After that, they move into practical training and community service. This setup prepares participants for real jobs and lasting impact.
