Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is reportedly making a change to its online Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) application portal. The update is expected to include a dedicated field for applicants to upload their language test results. They need to meet a minimum of CLB 5 / NCLC 5 in all four language skills. While this threshold is lower than for university graduates, it still signifies a functional level of language ability.
Validity and Timing of Language Test Results
Beyond meeting the required scores, the timing of the language test results is also critical. IRCC states that language test results must be less than 2 years old at the time of application submission. This means that even if an applicant has previously achieved the required score, the test results must still be within the two-year validity period when they submit their PGWP application.
